MMAA in Clermont County offers CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) classes that are open to the public. You do not have to be a student at the Milford Martial Arts Academy.
You will need to bring:
- 25 rounds of ammunition. If you would like to bring more, you will be able to use them after the range test. If you do not have a firearm, please contact us using the below form and we will arrange to have one for your use. You will still need to provide ammunition.
- Eye and ear protection.
CCW training is required to be conducted by instructors certified by the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. The instructors at Milford Martial Arts Academy are law enforcement officers with over 40-years of experience in firearms training.
Obtaining a CCW license.
The first step in being licensed to carry a concealed weapon is the “certificate of completion”. Upon successful completion of the CCW class, you will be issued the certificate. The class is 10 hours long, with an additional 2 hours of shooting.
Upon successful completion of the CCW class you will be able to explain and demonstrate firearms and ammunition handling and safe storage as well as the proper attitude, knowledge necessary to shoot a gun safely. After the class, you will go to a private range for hands-on experience in shooting. After the shooting, a test covering the course will be administered. You will also receive a copy of 2011 Concealed Carry Laws Manual.
After you are issued the certificate of completion, you will take it ti the Sherriff’s office and submit it with your application.
