Biography for Mr. Mills
Mr. Mills began his martial arts training at the age of thirteen and holds rank in Shorin-ryu Karate, Kajukenbo, Sombo, Hapkido and Tae Kwon Do. Mr. Mills serves as chief of the Milford Police Department. He joined the department in 1994 and served assignments in patrol, investigations, and training prior to being promoted to chief in 2011. He is a certified police defensive tactics instructor in the Robert Rail system of Defense without Damage (DWD) and Close Quarters Personal Control (CQPC).
Mr. Mills also serves as an adjunct instructor at the University of Cincinnati in the areas of criminal investigation and police administration. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Cincinnati and is a graduate of the Police Executive Leadership College and the Certified Law Enforcement Executive’s Course.
Mr. Mills continues to train in the martial arts and to strive for excellence in technique and an expansion of wisdom and knowledge which he can pass along to his students; allowing them to experience the fulfillment that can be realized through harmony between the mind, body and spirit. Mr. Mills is committed to preserving of the integrity and ethics of traditional martial arts and the character development of each of his students.
